Mark Overby

Classic Country Saturday Night: Saturday Nights 6pm-12am

"Some songs tell you stories. Others take you back in time...and if you're in the mood to hear those classic favorites, Mark Overby's your guy. He's the host of WNGC's Classic Country Saturday Night, every Saturday from 6pm to midnight.

Mark joined WNGC in 2000 as a remote technician while earning a Bachelor's in Journalism from the University of Georgia. Soon, he was made "producer" of the WNGC Morning Crew. You may remember him as "Intern Mark," laughing like Daffy Duck in the background or showing up somewhere in costume. Or, you may remember his weekend overnight show, "Overnights with Overby." Mark also produces the weekly highlight reel for UGA football games, and if you've called the "5th Quarter Show" afterward, he's who you talked to first. Mark has been a part of practically everything around here, except for selling commercials. He's also worked behind the scenes at WSB-AM in Atlanta, as a board operator.

Mark was born and raised in Gainesville, Georgia and loves spending time with his family. He has three dogs, a cat and two horses, is a lifelong Georgia Bulldog fan, and an even bigger NASCAR fan (if that's possible). He's earned an "Esther Award" from the Georgia Association of Broadcasters for his work, but he considers it a bigger honor knowing you love the music he plays. So join him every Saturday night from 6pm to midnight in the "South's Largest Country Music Library," where he'll play all the songs you know by heart."
