The UGA Wind Ensemble presents "Land of White Nights: Music of the Tsars and Beyond!" the latest installment in the Hugh Hodgson School of Music's Second Thursday concert series. The performance includes the first performance outside of Russia of three marches composed for Tsar Nicholas I by Rossini. Other highlights include Shostakovich's "Festive Overture," "Hoch Saint Petersburg!" by Franz von Blon, Prokofiev's "Romeo and Juliet Suite," "the Coronation Scene" from Mussorgsky's Boris Godunov and the world premiere of John Mackey's "The Frozen Cathedral."
