Dixie Painting and MOAS (Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter) presents the 7th Annual Black Dog Blues and BBQ Fundraiser to increase awareness of the plight of black dogs in the shelter populations throughout the Southeast.
The black dog population in shelters are, as a whole, the most overlooked and least adopted group of canines - a plight that most often results in much higher euthanasia rates in shelters that don't have the luxury of being 'no kill'. Every year with this fundraiser, we attempt to educate the public at large to this fact. We also bring sweet, adoptable black dogs to the event itself - many last chance pets with few options. These sweet dogs will be ready to go, sterilized and current on vaccines.
This year's live entertainment will be provided by Scarlet Stitch as patrons participate in a raffle, bid on really great auction items, enjoy delicious BBQ and know that they are making a difference in the lives of these overlooked shelter dogs.
Please help us make this the best year ever by spreading the word. Find your best friend for life......or save another.
If you are interested in donating an item for our silent auction or helping as a volunteer, please contact Lexi Wehrenberg directly for more information (706- 548-9397 phone or firstname.lastname@example.org). You can also find out more by visiting the shelter's website www.moas.org or 'like' them on Facebook!
Every small effort helps start a larger movement!
