The original script for "Africa Night: Ascend The Throne" was composed by the students of the African Student Union. The dramatic comedy is set in the traditional village of Yokumba. Sena and Sadia, two daughters of a well-respected chief, are sent on a journey to meet the prince of the village, whom one shall marry. With the underlining theme, character is defined by what you do when no one is watching; the two daughters unfold their true colors. Africa Night is a showcase of the diversity and beauty of Africa through drama, dance, music and fashion. Different countries in Africa are represented through authentic clothing that is displayed in our fashion show. A set of African-inspired dances will include traditional, hip hop, lyrical, partner and many more.Due to the high demand of the fashion styles displayed at past Africa Nights, authentic African designs will be available for purchase after the show.
