- All Ages Show - MARTHA, which will be Dr. Arvin Scott on percussion, Bryan Shaw on piano and Marty Winkler on vocals and percussion will be performing at The Melting Point on Feb. 21st! Tickets are $6 in advance, $8 at the door. You can reserve tickets at 706-254-6909. Marty & Co. are co-billing with the lovely Laura Coyle, a fine jazz singer from Atlanta. Come out and hear some new tunes, for you diehard fans. And for those who have yet to witness the wonders of MARTHA, they cover everything from the Gershwins "Summertime" to Noel Holston's sexy, bluesy "Liquid." They're tasty, they're thoughtful and you really need to see them and hear them in person! Come out! Come out! Marty Winkler has sung pop, jazz, folk and opera at venues from New York's Bitter End to the Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul to The Classic Center in Athens. A Nebraska native, from a family of 14 Marty studied voice at the state university and later with Broadway vocal coach Norman Fields. Her resume includes recording three CDs, most recently 2009's "Under Your Heart," with Michael C. Steele (Randall Bramblett and John Berry Bands,) and opening the Minneapolis leg of the Lilith Fair music tour in 1999. Her songs have been featured on noted musicologist Jonathan Schwart'z WNYC-New York broadcasts and The National Public Radio series "Le Show" hosted by Harry Shearer. Marty's singing has been compared to everyone from Bonnie Raitt to Etta James. With a four octave range and a stylistic virtuosity that is the envy of singers half her age, she brings 40 years of passionate singing to the stage. more >>> Laura Coyle (vocals) With her timeless voice and sense of swing, Coyle’s love affair with jazz is contagious. She released her debut CD Laura Coyle, in 2008. Peter Merrett, of PBS Melbourne Australia remarked, “A stunning voice, wonderful phrasing on these classic standards breathing new life into every word.” In 2012 she was featured with her band at the Atlanta Jazz Festival. Laura Coyle performs regularly with Atlanta’s top jazz musicians at such venues as Churchill Grounds, The Velvet Note and the High Museum; her music is played locally on jazz station favorites, WCLK and WABE. Louis Heriveaux (piano) has toured and performed with guitarist Russell Malone, vocalist Nnenna Freelon, saxophonist Jimmy Heath, vocalist Jeanie Bryson, and many others. A music producer in the popular music world, Heriveaux has collaborated with Dallas Austin, 112, TLC, Ginuwine, and Snoop Dogg. more >>> General Admission $6/$8 day of show
