The Road to College 5K, presented by The University of Georgia School Counseling Association, is a community outreach effort to raise awareness of the low graduation rates in the State of Georgia and specifically Athens-Clarke County. However, it is not enough to raise awareness, and the primary ambition of the event is to generate scholarship funding for an Athens-Clarke County high school senior to attend a two- or four-year college, university, or technical school.
